Biography

Dr. Gerhard Plenert, former director of executive education at the Shingo Institute at Utah State University, has more than 30 years professional experience in organizational change helping companies and government agencies strive for enterprise excellence by utilizing the Shingo Model to drive cultural transformations. Dr. Plenert is an internationally recognized expert in supply chain management, Lean/Six Sigma, quality and productivity tools, and in working with and creating leading-edge planning and scheduling methods. He has literally “written the book” on leading-edge supply chain management concepts, such as finite capacity scheduling, advanced planning and scheduling, and world-class management. He has published 37 books on a variety of subjects (see gerhardplenertbooks.com). Dr. Plenert previously served as a tenured full professor at California State University–Chico; a professor at Brigham Young University, Brigham Young University–Hawaii, University of Malaysia, and University of San Diego; and a visiting professor at numerous universities all over the world. Dr. Plenert continues to serve as a Shingo Prize examiner and as an adjunct faculty member for several universities.
