Mick McKay is an experienced leader with over 25 years in the mining, resources, and industrial sector, spanning the fields of maintenance, mining, operations, engineering, project management, and organizational change. Passionate about operational excellence and business transformation, he has led complex change efforts and transformation programs. Mr. McKay previously supported a global lean transformation across BHP in the role of head of BHP Operating System, partnering with senior leaders and their teams to adopt new ways of working. He started his career at the front line as an electrical tradesperson and transitioned to executive roles throughout his career, earning a master’s degree in project management and bachelor’s degrees in engineering and finance. Mr. McKay is now supporting organizations in their own organizational excellence journey as a Shingo licensed affiliate, Shingo certified facilitator, and Shingo Prize examiner.
